The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is a global communion of Lutheran churches. Founded in 1947, the LWF now has 131 member churches in 72 countries representing 59.5 million of the world's 63 million Lutherans.

Another 28 Lutheran churches (in 27 countries) who have chosen not to affiliate with the Lutheran World Federation are members of the International Lutheran Council.
