Communication Design II (formerly named Computer Graphic Design II) is primarily intended for Communication Design Majors and Minors, although you will find it useful if you are really interested in design using the computer. It is primarily a course intended to give you the knowledge of the various computer design tools and further your knowledge of the processes of design.

Generally a lot of the course work will be done independently and with the help of other students. Both during the lab times and at other times I am available to help you as well, but you will generally find it easier to swivel your chair to the person next to you who knows something about the application you are working on. This course does take a lot of time, but for those interested in exploring the ideas and tools of the trade it is time well spent.

The optional applications used in this course are fairly generic – even specialized apps such as Poser will give you a knowledge of how other modeling applications and animation applications work. If there is a application or an update you would like added to the pool let me know - If it will be a useful addition to the course I can usually get it in a week or so.

One thing to note is that this course has evolved from being a technique-heavy course to one where the ideas presented in Communication Design are expanded upon. This evolution should be evident from the student samples included on this page.
